Family Friendly Fall Bucket List
The Oily Home Companion
The weather is cooling down, the leaves are changing colors, and the holidays are right around the corner. Fall is finally here! The season won’t be here long, so enjoy all that it has to offer with this family-friendly fall bucket list.
Fall Bucket List
❏ Go apple-picking. Local apples are in their prime during the fall season, so grab the kids and go to your local apple orchard for apple picking, warm apple cider, and fresh applesauce. Not only will your taste buds be delighted with the fresh, juicy flavor of the apples, but you will be able to teach your kids how their favorite apple product is made! You can also bring your apples home and make one of these delicious vitality oil apple recipes!
❏ Get lost in a corn maze. Navigating your way through a local corn maze is a great way to bond with your friends and family. Some mazes even have games and scavenger hunts included to maximize the fun!
❏ Go camping. The cooler temperatures and beautiful landscape of fall make for an ideal camping weekend. Not only does camping allow you to get away from the city and into nature (goodbye, stress!), but it also allows you to teach your kids about nature. Go on a hike during the day to look for different varieties of trees, build a rock monument on the trail, and observe the unique creatures you find along the way. End your day with the best part of camping: s’mores over the fire!
❏ Attend local fall festivals. You can find fall festivals and 5k runs almost weekly during the fall season. Enjoy fun games for your kids, local vendors, and fall treats. Some festivals even have themes that could include costumes and unique experiences that the entire family will love!
❏ Bake an apple pie and a loaf of pumpkin bread. Let’s be honest, baked goods may be the best part of fall. Get in the kitchen and bake your favorite fall treats. This is a great opportunity to share your family recipes with your kids, and teach them how to get involved! Take the flavor of your recipes up a notch by using Cinnamon Bark Vitality Essential Oil and Nutmeg Vitality Essential Oil.
❏ Carve pumpkins from a pumpkin patch. The perfect pumpkin carving starts with finding the pumpkin that inspires you. Start a Saturday or Sunday at the pumpkin patch, then bring your treasures home for a pumpkin carving party. Roast the pumpkin seeds in a little olive oil and salt for a tasty treat while you create your masterpiece!
❏ Have a bonfire. Gather your friends and all of your scrap wood and dead leaves for a community bonfire. Make s’mores for the kids and spiced cocktails for the adults, and fill everyone’s belly with your favorite fall foods. We have a few fall recipes for you to try.
No matter what you choose to do this fall season, remember the importance of family and community. Events and activities won’t mean much if they aren’t shared with those you love.
