Oily Valentine’s Day – How Sweet It Is!
The Oily Home Companion
Valentine’s Day does NOT have to only be reserved for couples! I don’t know if you have noticed but bro outings and “Galentine’s” celebrations are becoming more and more common! It is an opportunity to celebrate love and cherished friendships. Here are some fun ideas to make your Valentine’s Day special.
Self
We’ve all been there...no Valentine on February 14th. There can be beauty in that! Set time aside on this day to treat yo’ self! Here is a list of some starting points that you can easily tailor to your own preferences.
Make yourself a new roller blend! How often do you mix something up for a friend or family member? That’s great, but what about you? Get creative and reflect on what you need. Maybe you’ve been feeling stressed or congested or perhaps you just want to play around with a few scents to create your own non-toxic cologne/perfume option...give yourself the time and resources to make something just for YOU!
Soak.those.tootsies. Seriously, grab some epsom salt, a big ole bowl or tub, your favorite calming YLEO, water, and make yourself a nice warm foot-soak. This is such an affordable and simple way to give your feet some TLC and melt away the day’s stresses.
Break out that Thieves Fruit & Veggie soak and clean up some berries! Dark Chocolate dipping or drizzle, optional!
Friends
Be the one who gathers up your friends to enjoy a time of togetherness. If you are gettin’ a group of gals together for a “Galentine’s” celebration, you have so many options to pamper yourselves!

Depending on the number of ladies in your crew, you can personalize a Valentine for each of them! Maybe you make each lady a rollerball suited to their needs or scents they love, fill a cute glass jar with a DIY bath soak featuring the perfect calming EOs, or maybe you just scent their paper Valentines with a few dabs of oil using a cotton ball. No matter which option you pick, your friends are sure to feel the love!

Peppermint Patty
Ingredients
1/2 cup organic coconut oil
1/4 cup local raw honey
5-7 drops peppermint vitality essential oil
3/4 cup chocolate chips - we like Lily’s Chips!
Instructions
In a smaller bowl, mix together coconut oil, honey, and peppermint vitality with a spoon, smashing any clumps against the bowl until you have a smooth mixture.
Place mixture in the freezer for a few minutes until it begins to harden, then remove from freezer.
With a small spoon or melon ball scooper, scoop out little balls onto a plate lined with parchment paper.
Use the back of the spoon to flatten the balls into flat patties.
Return patties to the freezer until firm.
Melt chocolate chips slowly over the stove, making sure to not overcook it. The melted chocolate should be slightly above room temperature.
Using a spoon, dip each patty into melted chocolate and place on parchment paper to harden - takes around 10 minutes. (*note: on a hot day or warmer kitchen, you may need to place in refrigerator/freezer throughout the process more frequently to keep them from melting.)
Makes 10-12 patties. Keep cool and enjoy!
